Salary: AED 63,163 per annum plus AED 71,000 per annum housing allowance

ROLE
The Driver and Administrative Assistant will provide driving services to transport staff, officials and visitors within the UAE and Qatar. The position also performs courier duties and undertakes routine administrative tasks.
DUTIES
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Drive A-based officers, other staff, officials and visitors as required
- Provide advice on best travel routes
- Maintain official vehicles and arrange regular servicing, maintenance, repairs, cleaning, refuelling and spot checks
- Maintain accurate vehicle records including running sheets, insurance, registration and fuel purchases
- Collect and deliver mail and other correspondence as required
- Prepare the diplomatic bag and associated documentation as required
- Undertake general administrative duties as required
- Public Relations Officer (PRO) duties including liaison with government ministries and local authorities on protocol matters such as official visas, staff residency visas, driving licences, liquor licences, airport passes, Diplomatic ID cards and airport facilitation
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
- A proven safety record.
- Extensive knowledge of road/traffic systems in the UAE and Qatar.
- An ability to read maps, use GPS equipment and follow directions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake overtime as required.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and be discreet.
- Basic computer knowledge.

SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Experience as a professional driver in the UAE. Excellent knowledge of roads and road rules throughout the UAE and a proven safety record.
2. Good communication skills in English and Arabic. Ability to liaise with government ministries and local authorities on protocol matters and communicate well with Embassy staff at all levels.
3. Organised and practical approach, including excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
4. Flexibility and adaptability, including willingness to work extended hours during major events and visits (overtime rates will be paid).
ASSESSMENT
Applications will be assessed by a Selection Panel and a shortlist established for interview. Once interviews are held an offer will be made to the applicant considered as most suitable for the role.
