Australian passport applications
The Department of Home Affairs does not process passport applications and cannot respond to any passport related enquiries.

If you need to apply for an urgent Australian passport for your child and require confirmation that your child is an Australian citizen for the passport application before you receive your child’s certificate, please only contact us after you have arranged an appointment with the passport section of the Australian Embassy/Consulate in your region. In your communication with the Consular (passport) section of the Embassy, you can advise that your child has not yet been given a citizenship certificate number and therefore you are not able to fill out this section of the online passport application form. Please note, it is not a mandatory field. You can submit the passport application online without the citizenship number.
